Moderator: Caitlin 0 0 The Island of the Wolves Arctic Ocean This dark and dangerous ocean is icy cold and animals can’t last long in it without freezing. The water surrounds the whole island and is sometimes calm as a mirror and sometimes roars with fury. It's covered in chuncks of floating ice and sometimes even icebergs. It is beautiful and mysterious, deep, dark, and eerie. Moderator: Caitlin 0 0 The Tundra (1 sub-board) This Arctic tundra composes the western edge of the island. It is flat and snowy with small brush, grasses, and rocks. Wind sees no resistance and howls endlessly over its cold surface. There is game to be found here such as birds, mice, lemmings, and rabbits. The Tundra is also a favorite place for polar bears, so wolves beware. This is the favorite territory of the Arctic Wolves. Moderator: Caitlin 0 0 The Mountains (1 sub-board) Cold, ice capped and incredibly dangerous, the mountains block the tundra from the rest of the island. The mountains are composed of sheer cliffs, slippery ice and rock slides. No known animal has ever made its way through here alive. The only way through is to go through the pass in the middle. But watch out for avalanches. Moderator: Caitlin 0 0 Great River (1 sub-board) This river separates the island in two. It winds its way from the northern edge of the island and makes a curve in front of the Pass. When it leaves the foothills of the mountains there is a dangerous waterfall. After it covers the mouth of the pass it leaves the mountains and travels southeast until it joins the Arctic Ocean at the southern tip of the island. This river is very wide and very deep but flows slowly after it goes over the waterfall. Moderator: Caitlin 0 0 Little River This river is much narrower than the Great River. It starts in the south from the Ocean and makes its way inland, slowly meandering its way into the Coniferous forest. This river is shallow and slow, much less dangerous than the Great one. At the edge of the marshy scrub the two rivers almost meet but then the Little River curves away. Moderator: Caitlin 0 0 The Marsh In the summer this place is truly a marsh. The grass is long and good for hiding prey. Caribou, Elk, and Moose herds often come here in the summer and spring to eat the new grass and have their young. The ground here is wet and boggy and covered in a variety of plants. In the fall the grasses become very dry and are quick to catch fire. In the winter though, most of the grasses die away or freeze, leaving little cover and solid icy ground. The Marsh extends out along the southern peninsula and up to the coniferous forest. Small prey like mice, lemmings and hares live here years round. This is the favorite territory of Red Wolves. Moderator: Caitlin 0 0 Coniferous Forest This forest is mainly made up of trees like spruces, hemlocks, pines and firs. There are a fair number of oaks, maples Cypresses, cedars and redwoods. The forest is large and holds the most abundance of life on the island. Large animals like deer, moose, and caribou come here to eat. But small animals like foxes, rabbits, mice, voles, rabbits, raccoons and birds also live here. There is also a small grizzly and black bear population, so wolves beware! Little light penetrates the thick canopy of trees to reach the forest floor. Because of this gloom, only ferns and a few plants grow here. Mosses, and lichens are also found on the forest floor and grow on tree trunks and branches. There are few flowering plants. The forest extends from the northern edge of the island, along the edge of the mountain range and across half the island. This is the favorite territory of the Gray Wolves. Moderator: Caitlin 0 0 Scrub Land (1 sub-board) There is very little living in this sparse and cold scrub land. Small bushes dot the rocky ground and there is little protection from the wind. Hardly any animals live here, and few herds pass through. However, where the rivers pass through the scrub can be found the most fish anywhere on the island. The scrub lies between the Marsh, forest and mountains. Moderator: Caitlin 0 0 Northern Islands Extending from the utmost Northeastern tip of the island is a long and skinny chain of islands. There is a long and very narrow peninsula from which the other islands sprout off. These islands are unexplored as of yet. They are simply thought to be bare of life or vegetation. Explore if you will. What will you find? Moderator: Caitlin 0 0 Southern Islands After the long narrow peninsula of marsh, there is a long string of islands, more than there are in the Northern islands. This is at the utmost southeastern point of the island. The islands go away for as long as the eye can see. These islands are unexplored as of yet. Few are brave enough to try. Explore if you will. What will you find? Moderator: Caitlin 0 0 The Spirit World Dream Pool In a deep circular hole in the rock there lies a dark pool, with water that is at once black, white, all colors but at the same time none. The water never moves even in the highest wind. This is where the wolves of The Spirit Pack can come to share dreams with their living descendants. Moderator: Caitlin 0 0 Silver Wood A deep forest in which there is never seen sun or moon but is perpetually lit with a soft glow that looks different to every being there. There are trees of every type imaginable and large colorful flowers. Many animals live here, moose, rabbit, mouse, bird, everything. This is where the Spirit wolves come to hunt. If they are successful however, the animal will just appear again on the new dawn. If they die they will return. Moderator: Caitlin 0 0 Moon Lake In this lake the reflection of the moons is always seen, even on cloudy nights. The water is deep and dark and cool. Mysterious fish swim in its depths, small and large. The lake is huge and no beast has seen the end of it. It gets deep very quickly and has seen powerful storms. This is where the spirit pack can come to swim or hunt for fish. Moderator: Caitlin 0 0 Red Hills These soft and gentle hills curve and wind their way along endlessly. There is long, but dry, grasses here and plenty of small prey. When there has been little rain the dry grasses are apt to catch fire quickly and spread swiftly. When a sunset is especially red on the island, it is said that the Red Hills must have caught fire again. Moderator: Caitlin 0 0 Storm Cliffs These cliffs rise for miles, steep in some parts and sloping in others. Here the wind is so fierce that it could sweep you off your feet. Birds love this place as do the Arctic wolves, whose element is wind. The paths here are rocky and icy. Snow seems to swirl at all times of the years down from the heights.
